River's -Legault - Whitcomb Farm

Legault House

When the Clement Legault family came here in 1939, they were a hard working French family who went right to work taking out the calf pens and horse stalls and putting in one hundred stanchions. They milked one hundred cows until the hurricane of November 25, 1950.

That night the barn blew off the foundation and crushed most of the cows. What a mess!! About twenty four cows were saved next to the milk house. The barn had 20 thousand bales in the hay loft.
